WTH? California allows first-ever state recognized human-animal marriage?
1/31/2014 9:00:00 PM

What kind of report is this? Are they for real or just messing with people? According to this report, a man in San Francisco has legally married his dog in a church officiated by a priest and witnessed by family members. Read this bizarre story below culled from Nationalreport.net
On Monday history was made at the Chapel of Our Lady at the Presidio in San Francisco as the first-ever state recognized human-animal marriage took place.
Local resident 35-year-old Paul Horner was the groom during the ceremony. Joining him was his faithful dog Mac who is 36-years-old in dog years. Mac also decided to be the groom but ended up wearing a white veil at the last moment.

Father McHale who officiated the outdoor wedding told reporters he was extremely happy to be a part of this joyous moment of life. "This is the definition of true love my friends. There is nothing more sacred than the bond between a man and his faithful dog," McHale said. "Now, since it is recognized as a legally binding marriage in the state of California, Mr. Horner and Mac will have all the same tax benefits and everything else coming to them that a regular married couple would receive. It's a fantastic day to be alive!"

So how could this have happened?

In the book of California's State Laws and Regulations there is a little known law that was passed as the state was first forming in 1850. According to article 155, paragraph 10, it clearly states:

If a man and a man can get married and a woman and a woman can get married, if ever comes that day, then a human and animal will have the exact same rights to marriage in every eye of the law. God help us if this ever is to happen!

In attendance was Horner's entire family who flew in from Hawaii to witness the event. Mac had her puppies on hand and making a special celebrity appearance was Alex from Stroh's and Spuds Mckenzie.

"I just love my Mac so much, I can't wait till we can finally get back to the honeymoon sweet in Montana where bestiality is legal. Gosh, get with the times California! We can marry here just fine, but love making is a big no-no," said Horner. "People keep asking me why I wanted to marry a dog. I told them I just want the same god given rights that every person in California is allowed to have. Don't tell me I can't marry my dog. I don't tell you that you can't marry a 500 lb woman with gas issues. That's your decision. Don't tread on me. I love my dog and I know he loves me a hundred times more than any gay wedding out there."

With this wedding between a man and a male dog now on the books, one can only ask what is in store next? A man marrying a toaster? A toaster marrying a dog? A toaster marrying a toaster?

America, what happened to the sanctity of marriage? Tsk. Tsk.
Is this a real report or a satire?

Update: This report is 100% false.. nationalreport.net is a satirical website and does not post 'real/true' news.

Dear Nigerian internet users, have y'all seen the proposed Cyber Crime bill?
1/31/2014 9:18:00 PM

How many of you internet users in Nigeria have seen the proposed Cyber-Crime bill which is before the House of Reps? For insulting someone online, you can get a 5year jail term. Like, for real? I don't understand why this government is not focusing on important things. They are now trying to clip the wings of news sites, blogs, readers/commenters and users of social media? They better not pass this bill into law. Find it below, culled from Punch...
For using profane language on other people or pelting them with insults or abusive words on social networking sites, Internet users in Nigeria risk a jail term that ranges between 12 months and five years.
Section 18 sub-section 1 of the Cyber-Crime Bill 2013, which is pending before the House of Representatives, expressly states that anybody who "insults publicly, through a computer system or network" commits an offence and will be liable on conviction to imprisonment "for a term of not less than five years or to a fine of not less than N10m or to both fine and imprisonment." Continue...it gets more interesting
Also, the bill prescribes a jail term of five years for anyone who circulates or makes any racist and xenophobic material available online.

Cyber-criminals, who hide under the anonymity of the Internet to bully, harass other users of online platforms also risk jail terms when the law comes into full force. .
Section 15 of the bill, which deals with issues of cyber-stalking, prescribes a jail term of 12 months for anyone found guilty of posting messages deemed "grossly offensive, indecent, obscene" or messages aimed at "causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety" to another online user.

Besides, anyone who bullies, threatens or harasses another person, through "information and communication technologies" or posts messages online that contains "threats to kidnap or injure" another person will be jailed five years or pay a fine of N15m or both.

According to the bill, Internet service providers will be required to keep all traffic data and subscriber information for the purpose of prosecuting those suspected of committing cyber-crimes.
The service providers are expected to provide necessary assistance towards the identification, apprehension and prosecution of offenders, failure of which makes them liable to fines and or jail terms.

Part V, Section four of the bill prescribes the Office of the National Security Adviser as the co-coordinating body for all security and enforcement agencies when the bill becomes law.

One of the high points of the law is the prescription of death sentence for anyone who commits an offence against what it calls "critical national information infrastructure" which results in death.

Man accuses Chinese boss of brutality in Ogun state
1/31/2014 5:43:00 PM

According to a report by Punch, a 40 year old man is accusing his Chinese boss and his cousin of brutalizing him. Full report below...
A newly hired employee of a Chinese firm based in the Sagamu area of Ogun State has accused his Chinese boss, Mike Jackson, of brutality.
The victim, Adeleke Owolabi, told Punch Metro that Mike and his cousin, Tony Jackson, brutalised him during an argument in Mike's office.
Owolabi said he had just been hired by Mike to be a marketer in the northern part of the country.
The 40-year-old victim said, "I have been self-employed for a long time and I met Mike sometime last year. He offered me a marketing job in his company and asked me to resume in the first week of January.

"He produces PVC, a roofing material, and said he wanted to expand to the north and since I needed the job, I accepted. I went on January 6, but he told me to return the following day. However, I could not make it because I travelled. On January 8, I returned and after discussions, he said I should go get a sack in which I could put the PVC into.

"I bought a Ghana-must-go bag of N500 with my own money and one of his former marketers showed me how to package them. I loaded 200 pieces into the sack and I was set for my travel to the north. But Mike said I should proceed to the production section to learn more about the product."

The graduate of Mass Communications from Olabisi Onabanjo University said when it was about 4pm, he told Mike that he wanted to leave so that he could arrive Kano on time, but an argument ensued.

He said Mike became violent and descended on him.

Owolabi said, "After pleading with Mike, he said I should remove the PVC from the bag and return the bag. As I was doing this, Mike kicked me in my private part. I asked him why he was being wicked to me since he was the one who offered me the job.

"He said I was not handling the PVC properly and they could break. He then slapped me, so I held his shirt in order to stop him, but his cousin, Tony, smashed a bottle on my head and beat me up until I fainted."

The father of two said when he woke up, he was covered in blood. He said a lady took him to the Makun Police Division from where he was referred to Idera Hospital for treatment.

He alleged that the Chinese men refused to visit him at the hospital and did not offer any apology.
He said the police refused to press charges against the Chinese men.

"The police said since Mike and Tony were foreigners, a lot of things would be involved. I then reported the matter to a human rights organisation and the case was taken to the Nigerian Immigration Service, Ogun State Command. Mike and his cousin came on January 17, and that was the first time they apologised to me and promised to help me secure a Chinese visa," Owolabi said.

Owolabi said he had been having medical challenges since the incident occurred.
"These days, I find it hard to sleep at night. The doctor said I should do a brain CT and spinal cord     X- Ray and it costs about N45, 000," he said.
He  urged the government to ensure that Nigerians were not maltreated in their respective places of work.
Attempts to contact Mike on the telephone proved abortive as he did not answer calls made to his telephone and also did not respond to a text message sent to the phone.

Police Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the incident, said the case would soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta.

Adejobi said, "The matter was reported at the police station and the lawyers of both parties decided to have settlement talks. However, the aggrieved party was not satisfied as a human rights organisation came to register a complaint. The matter is being transferred to SCID, Eleweran."

I6 Local Govt Chairmen, 194 Councillors defect to APC in Kwara
1/31/2014 4:47:00 PM

The tide of party defection isn't anywhere near over as 16 Local Govt Chairmen and 194 Councillors  have defected to the ruling opposition party, the All Progressive Congress, APC. The defectees were elected on the platform of PDP.

Announcing their defection today, the Chairman, ALGON, Kwara State chapter (under whose aegis they announced their defection) Mr. Abdulateef Okandeji said failure of the national leaders of the PDP to listen to their grievances is the main reason for their defection.
"I recall that following the refusal and failure of the national leaders of the PDP to address the observations and complaints of its founding members especially about the lawlessness, impunity and injustice which had become the norm and which led to the factionalisation of the PDP, our leaders decided to team up in what is known as the newPDP under the national Chairmanship of our own Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje. After exhaustive consultations and deliberations by our leaders spearheaded by Senator Bukola Saraki, it was unanimously decided that the best option for us would be to merge with the newly formed APC and work together in the overall interest of the good people of this country towards the advancement of democracy," he said.

Man on trial for rape for 'refusing to wear a condom' during sex
1/31/2014 3:45:00 PM

30 year old Imomotimi Wilson (pictured left) is on trial for rape for refusing to wear a condom on the third time he had sex with a woman during a one night stand. Moral of this story? There are actually men who can go three times in one night! Lol. Read full story below, culled from Daily Mail
A man on trial for rape for allegedly refusing to wear a condom on the third time he had sex with a woman in a one-night stand has told the jury it was 100 per cent consensual.
Imomotimi Wilson, 30, met his alleged victim in a pub and she agreed to go back to his house but told him she would only have sex if he used protection.
They had consensual sex twice but on the third occasion claims that Wilson failed to use a condom.
The woman, a 40-year-old, said Wilson treated her 'like a piece of meat' as the alleged attack took place. She said he held her hands over her head and told her 'if you love me you'll do it' before raping her for 15-20 seconds.
But giving evidence at his trial at Cambridge Crown Court Wilson said 'she said stop and that's when I stopped'.

He said: 'She said I feel like having sex again and I said "Yes, I feel like having sex with you as well again but there is no condom".
'She was romancing me, touching and kissing, and I said no, I do not want to do that because there is no condom.

'She started kissing me again and then I penetrated her. I believed 100 per cent it was consensual.
'Then she said stop and that's when I stopped. There were three seconds of penetration.'

The court heard how the pair met at The Regal pub in Cambridge on June 9 last year and took a taxi back to Wilson's shared house in the city at 2am.

She then spent most of the evening in bed with the defendant before leaving the property at around 6am.

The court heard how she phoned police later that afternoon and Wilson was arrested.

Caroline Allison, prosecuting, said: 'The prosecution say that she had made it perfectly clear in plain straight-forward language that the situation was no condom, no sex and that nothing had happened in the intervening period that would invite a reasonable belief that she was indeed consenting to unprotected sex.'

Wilson, of Cambridge, has pleaded not guilty to rape after claiming he stopped on the third time the woman said no. The trial continues.
