Music Meets Runway is an annual event recognized for providing a platform for the most creative designers, to showcase their latest collections accompanied by live performances from popular musical acts. Last year's Icon Edition was one of the most anticipated fashion & lifestyle events in Lagos. Showcasing on the night were four of the most outstanding designers in Nigeria today – ItuenBasi, Mai Atafo, Lanre Da Silver Ajayi&DeolaSagoe. The audience was thrilled by Performances by Tuface, D'banj, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Seyi Shay, Lola Rae and the legends like, Dr Victor Olaiya& Femi Kuti. International fashion designer and fashion Icon Angela Simmons hosted the event alongside Nigeria's IkOsakidowa. International supermodelAlekWek also thrilled guests as she strutted down the MMR runway and presented DeolaSagoe with the Icon of The Icons Award.
The MMR brand has continued to raise the bar in the entertainment industry and it is no surprise that news of its' success has spread to other African countries such as South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania just to name a few. As such, this year's show has been appropriately themed 'The African Edition'. This year, MMR Africa aims to spotlight excellence in arts and craftsmanship by celebrating the diversity of African artisans and showcasing various unique and authentic creations from trailblazers in the African society today. MMR 2014 promises to be an experience like no other, putting the best of African music and fashion together on one stage in Lagos, Nigeria.
