Anambra Election Fallout: Nwoye To Dump PDP and Join APC

Tony Nwoye's name missing in INEC voters register.
These are not the best of times for PDP, following its dirty politics in Anambra State. Fresh fact has emerged that the PDP governorship candidate in Anambra, Comrade Tony Nwoye, may join the All Progressives Congress (APC), going by some nocturnal meetings between him and the party officials in the state.

A source close to Nwoye’s campaign organisation, who pleaded anonymity, disclosed that Nwoye is now on the verge of dumping the PDP for APC where he has been offered a better deal for 2015 politics.

According to Daily SUN, Nwoye may get the APC's House of Representatives election ticket in 2015. It was gathered that Nwoye’s move to APC is a result of overtures by Senator Chris Ngige.

“Ngige had been able to convince Nwoye that he was not wanted in PDP by citing events before, during and after the November election,” he stated.

Ngige was reported to have reminded Nwoye how President Goodluck Jonathan refused to raise his hand at the rally in Awka, shortly before the election and also how the PDP national leadership had maintained a strange position from Nwoye’s on the outcome of the November 16 Anambra election.

If PDP should lose a strong grassroot politician like Nwoye to the APC, then 2015 will indeed be interesting.
